At Sam's Site

Hi All,

You can see by the banner our superwebmaster has put up it is time for the 2010 Alz Walk on September 11 in San Francisco. I want to thank all of you that supported us last year and made us the "Rookie Team of the Year" for donations. $5400 in most generous donations. We were amazed and truly awed at your generosity. We are hoping to achieve that goal again this year with your help.

As you know my Father, Sam, is stricken with Alzheimer's and is slowing losing the battle. We found a great facility for him last year in Colorado Springs, Colo. where he is comfortable and will live out the rest of his life. My Mother visits him every day and we all call as often as we can.Wish we could have him and our Mother here in California with their children so we could be with them and help. He still remembers us but, is having trouble verbally communicating. Our Father is slipping away from us, as anyone with a loved one having Alzheimer's knows only too well how this feels.We remember the loving, caring, strong, friendly family man he was. That is our memory of Sam and will love our Father until the end. I will keep writing about his condition as time goes on because, I feel it is important for people who have someone they know and those that don't that there is support out there.
